Dr. Amuchou Soraisham, MD, DNB, DM, MSc, FRCPC, FAAP, FNNF
Medical Director, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit - Foothills Medical Centre

TRAINING

Dr. Soraisham did undergraduate (MBBS) and postgraduate pediatric (MD) training from JIPMER, Pondicherry, India, followed by DM Neonatology from PGI, Chandigarh, and completed fellowship training in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine at the University of Calgary, Canada. He has been trained in Perinatal Epidemiology and got his MSc in Clinical Epidemiology.

WORK

Dr. Amuchou Soraisham is a Professor of Pediatrics at Cumming School of Medicine, University of Calgary, Canada and staff neonatologist with Alberta Health Services, Calgary.

Currently, he is the Medical Director for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the Foothills Medical Centre and director for the Calgary Targeted Neonatal Echocardiography program.

Dr. Soraisham is Co-chair of the Neonatal Resuscitation Program of the Canadian Pediatric Society.

RESEARCH & QI

His main research interests include neonatal health outcomes, neonatal hemodynamic studies, neurodevelopmental outcomes, family integrated care, and perinatal epidemiology.

His passions include teaching medical students, residents and allied health professionals. He received many awards of excellence for his teaching
